About this trip
The five-night version adds the part most people regret missing: the tea country, the train down to Ella, and the south coast at Mirissa rather than a single night on the beach.
The railway leg from Nanu Oya to Ella is optional — take it, and the car meets you at the other end.

Pinnawala on the way, then the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and a walk through the city — Kandy Lake, the markets, the colonial streets.

The Ramboda Hanuman Temple and waterfall, then a working tea factory — plucking, withering, rolling, drying, and a tasting at the end. A tour of Nuwara Eliya takes in Gregory Lake, Victoria Park and the racecourse.

The train from Nanu Oya to Ella, through tea, tunnels and cloud — optional, and one of the great railway journeys. At Ella, the Nine Arch Bridge and the Ravana falls and caves, then south to Mirissa.
